Quite Simply French Wins 2020 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for Restaurants

Recognised World Based on Outstanding 2019  Traveller/Diner Reviews

Today it has been announced that we have been recognised as a 2020 Travellers’ Choice award-winner for Restaurants. Based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, prior to any changes caused by the pandemic, award winners are known for consistently receiving great traveller/diner feedback, placing them in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe.

Here’s what Rob had to say, when he heard…“We are absolutely delighted and honoured to have been given this award. It is a testament to my amazing team and their dedication to our customers. My philosophy when it comes to food and hospitality is always serve the best and always be at your best. Treat customers like family how you would like to be treated. Smile always.

Over the last few months we have made a considerable investment to make sure we will be super safe for our customers and our staff with changes both in the layout of the restaurant and in what we offer on our menus. We have been awarded Visit Britain’s  ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard and supporting mark having carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and we are also Navitas Coronavirus Control Certified.  Our loyal customers have been returning to our restaurant and our boutique hotel, taking advantage of our great Staycation Offers for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. We have also launched QSF To Go offering customers a luxury dine at home, click and collect service with a range of favourite dishes, cooked fresh to order. We’re a place that honours what everyone cares about. Staff and customers alike.”

Winners of the 2020 Travelers’ Choice Awards should be proud of this distinguished recognition,” said Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at Tripadvisor. “Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements. Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travelers/diners as the world begins to venture out again.”

New Year Spruce Up

From the day we opened (1st December 1996) as Lancaster’s best Restaurant, we have invested in Quite Simply French and this year is no different. Our stairs and upstairs restaurant have had a fabulous makeover courtesy of Michael Ellis Painting and Decorating.

“I can not praise Michael and his team enough. They delivered the project on time and on budget and their attention to detail and pride in their work is second to none. They were a delight to work with, nothing was too much trouble. I would absolutely recommend them” Robert Mason

There number of things that are key to creating a successful restaurant.

Great Food
Great food is key of a successful restaurant. This one is a no-brainer.  No matter what you do, if the food at your restaurant is not great, people will not return.
Staff Satisfaction
Behind a successful, well-functioning restaurant, there is an efficient and loyal team. A happy team is a productive team.
Guest Experience
Excellent customer service is an inherent trait of a successful restaurant business. Customer service constitutes the entire customer experience, right from the politeness and helpfulness of the staff, to the service—how soon the food arrives, the price of the dishes and restaurant ambiance.

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. It was the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast and pancakes are the perfect way of using up these ingredients.

A pancake is a thin, flat cake, made of batter and fried in a frying pan. A traditional English pancake is very thin and is served immediately. Golden syrup or lemon juice and caster sugar are the usual toppings for pancakes. The pancake has a very long history and featured in cookery books as far back as 1439.

Romantic Valentine’s Dinner

Valentine’s Day, also called St. Valentine’s Day, holiday (February 14) when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. The holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery.

Vegetables include beetroot, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celeriac, celery, chicory, horseradish, jerusalem artichoke, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, parsnips, potatoes (maincrop), salsify, shallots, swede, truffles (black) and turnips

Fruit include apples, blood oranges, clementines, lemons, oranges, passion fruit, pears, pineapple, pomegranate, rhubarb and satsumas.

Meat include duck, guinea fowl, hare, mallard, partridge, turkey, venison
