FINE FRENCH DINING

Dining at QSF isn’t just a meal – it’s a moment. The kind you’ll savour long after the last sip of wine. Unexpect the expected with menus that change daily, driven by the seasons and our chefs’ unlimited imaginations. Every plate is cooked to order – no fuss, no frills, just bold flavours, skilled hands and a little French flair.

We’re proud to be Lancaster’s No.1 dining destination, with nearly 2,500 glowing TripAdvisor reviews to prove it. And when the meal’s over? You won’t want to leave – which is handy, as we’re also Lancaster’s only hotel rated 5-stars by both The AA and Visit England.

OUR RIVERSIDE SETTING

Tucked inside a Georgian townhouse on Lancaster’s historic St George’s Quay, our restaurant combines candlelit romance with a touch of old-world drama. Once the beating heart of a bustling port, this corner of the River Lune now plays host to something altogether more decadent.

Step through our glass-fronted entrance into a warm, stone-walled interior, filled with gilt-framed mirrors, thick timber beams and a soft golden glow. Downstairs, cosy booths offer intimate dining. Upstairs on the mezzanine, you’ll enjoy views of the river and a level of personalise service that makes every visit feel like a special occasion.

OUR FOOD

Every dish we serve starts with the best ingredients we can find – seasonal, sustainable and proudly sourced from local and specialist producers where possible. From the farm to our kitchen to your plate, we keep things fresh, flavoursome and full of imagination.

Our menu is French at heart but never afraid to break the rules. We blend classic techniques with new ideas and the occasional surprise – think oysters from our shores, spices from far-flung places and exotic ingredients fresh from the legendary Rungis Market in Paris.

Had a great time on a Saturday Dinner time on the 20th Dec 2025, party of seven, staff could not have been nicer or attentive in a timely manner. The food was outstanding. Price has gone up since we where there last year, but considering the taxes this Government is placing on establishments like this, you have to support them for these establishments to survive. I travelled from Preston with 6 other people, one of our favourite restaurants of all time.

I really enjoyed the food and ambiance. However for the price of the rooms, and the absence of lifts, it is unfair not to help customers with their luggages. It is even worse to ask customers to get breakfast so a member of the kitchen can help them with one or 2 luggages. The breakfast is too expensive for the quantity given as well. It is not a buffet. Overall the suites are nice, but without a lift and a conciergerie, the prices should be reduced. The stairs are not ideal and a bit steep. If you are older and travelling with family or friends (so many luggages), or if you have issues with your knees, this hotel might not be ideal for you. Great food though!
